While Blackfish is still splashing around on Twitter, the scandal at the VA was a dominant topic on cable news Twitter on Friday as well.  Various Iranian hashtags have shown up mostly, I think, not in reaction to what’s on cable news but to try to get more coverage for Iranian events.

Cable News Twitter Ratings for Friday, May 30, 2014 — Ed & Sean, together again!

Sean and Ed won best day and best hour on Friday for their respective shows.

The Rachel Maddow Show was preempted for a rebroadcast of Brian Williams’ interview with Edward Snowden.   Unfortunately, there were no show hashtags or twitter user ids I could find and so it was virtually impossible to determine if there was any social media engagement.  You’d think it take all of 5 minutes to invent a hashtag, publicize it on the website, and maybe even throw it on the chyron.  Alas, it was not to be.

Cable News Twitter Ratings for Thursday, May 29, 2014 — The Sixties didn’t make it to #1

Well, CNN’s The Sixties got into the 700s, which was less than half what they needed to get best hour.  Which is not too much of a surprise, as live (or at least recorded the same day) programs always get better Twitter engagement.  It was no surprise that Chris Hayes handily won best hour, while Sean Hannity pulled in his (frequent) best day win.
