Cable News Twitter Ratings for November 13, 2013 — Strong day for Kelly File, Anderson Cooper

The Kelly File won the best-in-hour race yesterday, but Anderson Cooper had the best day overall, which continues the strong level of Twitter activity he’s had over the past several days.  Ratings for the 13th aren’t posted yet, but I’ll update this blog post when they are to see if we can find a trend here…

Update: The Nielsen ratings show Anderson Cooper being Chris Hayes for second place in the 8pm hour in the 25-54 demographic (but still a distant second place after O’Reilly). In addition, AC360 was the only show to break 200K viewers of the entire CNN primetime line-up.

Cable News Twitter Ratings for Tuesday, November 12. 11-12-13 edition!

Yesterday, I reported that Anderson Cooper 360 had the best hour of any cable news program.  The Nielsens weren’t as kind to him, as he came in third place.  But not a distant third, at least from second, and up a third from his week previous ratings.

Tuesday night AC360 Later won the ratings — Anderson is making a move towards better viewership.  It will be interesting to see if this keeps up!

Cable News Twitter Ratings for Sunday, November 10, 2013

MSNBC’s “Taking the Hill” with Patrick Murphy didn’t generate a lot of Twitter buzz yesterday, with the best-in-hour and best-in-day winners both being the Melissa Harris-Perry Show.  Part of Taking the Hill’s low mention counts is probably due to the poorly promoted hashtag and lack of a show-specific Twitter user id…
