Wow … The Rachel Maddow Show had the best day overall yesterday, and The Ed Show had the best hour. Rachel isn’t normally dominant on Twitter, so this is quite the day for her. The mentions seem to be triggered by a deluge of #SOSVenezuela tweets, where people are lobbying via Twitter for coverage of events in that country. It’s kind of interesting to see; when Ukrainian protests first fired up there was a similar deluge of tweets tagged with #Euromaiden. Is this a harbinger of things to come?

The Colbert Report had a great day on Twitter yesterday — well, great if you consider the hashtag #CancelColbert a positive thing for the show…
Well, dang. I would have thought Monday’s Colbert Report put the whole cancel Colbert things to rest, but I guess not: Colbert had the best (half-) hour, best day, and top hashtag.
Something else that’s interesting — the three main cable news networks had almost exactly the same number of mentions, with MSNBC coming out on top (on, I presume, the strength of the news about the Affordable Care Act).
