It was very much an MSNBC day on Twitter Friday: The Ed Show had the best hour, Morning Joe the best day overall, and MSNBC as a network had the most mentions across all its shows. #SOSVenezuela, which had been aggressively filling the mentions of various shows, was starting to die down.

The Ed Show ends the week with a bang, getting the most mentions during a broadcast hour of any show on cable news. Morning Joe, which runs longer, managed to get the most mentions overall in the day. The third best show of the day was Real Time with Bill Maher, which is all the more impressive given that it’s on a pay network (HBO).

The Rachel Maddow Show was the most popular show during its broadcast on Thursday, but once again it was because of the almost-spam-like deluge of #SOSVenezuela messages. Still, I guess it’s better than #HottieOfTheWeek.
From the list of words, the most popular conversational topics appear to be the Fort Hood shooting and the Supreme Court decision on campaign financing.
#MH370 is still in the top ten list for hashtags, but it’s fallen quite a bit, having about the same mentions as #CancelColbert. But there’s little other signs that the flight remains a popular topic. This has got to be a worrying sign for CNN.
