Sunday saw MSNBC’s schedule disrupted by english soccer, which cleared the decks for Up with Steve Kornacki to win best hour and best day.
The tea leaves are murky about Saturday, with #Iran, #Powergrid, and #emp being top issue specific tags. EMP is electromagnetic pulse, and the conversation is about the threat to our powergrid. I’m not sure why this topic pulsed to the top on Saturday, or what’s powering it, but the topic seems electric.
The Melissa Harris-Perry Show gets top hour, while Sean Hannity scores best day overall. This pattern, where an MSNBC show gets good engagement but mostly during the broadcast while a Fox show sustains conversation throughout the day, is common. With Hannity, of course, he has conversation from his radio show as well as TV show, and that drives a lot of the chat outside of the TV broadcast hours. Nonetheless, it shows a different kind of conversation that takes place.
There was no real dominating topic in Cable News on Friday, but Benghazi managed to move back ahead of BringBackOrGirls as the wrangling over the make up of the committee managed generate more buzz than the slow news out of Nigeria.
