ISIS and Obama’s non-strategy were pretty much the trending topics for Friday, August 29, 2014, on Cable News Twitter…
Chris Hayes managed to bring in a strong hour Friday night right before everyone’s attention turned to the three-day weekend. Hannity had the best day overall.
ISIS was the clear top topic in Cable News Twitter on Thursday, with a bit of Ukraine and Ferguson thrown in for good measure.
The Kelly File and Hannity won best hour and day, respectively, on Thursday’s Cable News Twitter. MSNBC’s prime time lineup from Chris Hayes through Lawrence O’Donnell did reasonably well. That’s not unusual for Hayes and Maddow, but a little bit unusual for O’Donnell, giving his week a bit of a flourish at the end. Greta van Susteren also had a fairly decent day.
The top trending topics on Wednesday were ISIS, Gaza, the Uzi accident, and Ferguson, somewhat roughly in that order. This is an inflection point for Ferguson, and it will be interesting to see if it drops further in media coverage now that there appears to be no new news on the horizon for a while.
I see that Fox News has a new Benghazi special coming up on the 5th. It will be interesting to see if that manages to pop that topic back up in the twitterverse…
